25/365

These are two of my favorite people. Sylvia & Emile were my first two customers when I opened the store 7 years ago. For a couple of years they came in every Friday night. Now that they've retired and moved a few miles away they don't come in together as often but we still enjoy seeing them whenever they do. I love the sign behind them that says "Much Love". These two have been married for more than 45 years!! THAT = Much Love.

Another successful feral cat trapping. I was able to trap two females this time. This pretty little girl is a new one I didn't recognize. The other that I caught was the long-haired one I've been calling Puff. Both will remain in the traps until they have recovered from their surgery. Notice the notched left ear? That is a universal sign of the Sterile Feral Program. It lets everyone know that they have been spayed or neutered in case they are caught again.

Happy 17th Birthday to my beautiful daughter. The whole family went out to dinner to celebrate.

I've written before about the problem we have with feral cats on our farm. This time of year when it's so cold we notice a lot more of them getting into the garbage. Once again I have connected with Our Companions to trap/neuter/release them. They lend me two traps at a time and this is how I set up the holding area. Once they are trapped on Thursday they will remain here until I take them to the vet Friday morning. After the vet they will come back here for recovery: 24 hours for males, 36 hours for females.

While everyone else took photos of the actual swearing in of President Obama, I went a different route. I was only able to watch some of the coverage of Inauguration day before I went to work so I took this shot.

Due to more snow overnight there was no transportation provided for the PHP program so I had to drive "the boy" in.

There is nothing like a good, fresh from the butcher Rib-eye steak. Sorry if I offend any vegetarians!

So much for healthy eating! An unexpected trip to my son's school meant I had to grab lunch on the run.

My so-called healthy breakfast. Since learning I have high Cholesterol last summer I have been making an effort to eat better.

It's never easy to get a good shot of "Boo". Had to use a flash for this one.

Crazy day at work, lots of interruptions and distractions and several errands to run...Yep, that means Pizza Night!

More snow again today. Since I was the one working today I had to shovel the back steps before I could get in. Thankfully the plow guy had done the driveway and parking lot and some nice person did most of the sidewalk so I only had to do the stairs and cut an opening in the snow bank at the curb.

My first complete week

Yeah!! I made it through the first complete week and did my layout. I still have no idea if I'll be getting the CK kit but at this point I will probably save it for next year if it does arrive. Becky Higgins was kind enough to post digital files of some of the kit components on her blog today, so if you are still on the fence about how to do this you can try using some of these.

I'm still not sure I like my "week of" card so I may end up changing that but at midnight last night I called it "done". Let me know what you think.

When I mentioned to my mom that I hadn't take my photo for the day, she snapped this picture of me cleaning up at work.

This is an all too common sight - Charlie's cow hanging out in the middle of the road. The town even had to put up a sign; a big yellow diamond with the silhouette of a cow. At least today she moved to the side to let me pass!

Just an ordinary shopping trip to the super Walmart. I don't think a week goes by that I don't end up in here for something.

Could she look any sadder? Actually, she wasn't sad at all, she was begging for food and that is her "pathetic" look.

Mom & I went out to Cracker Barrel in Sturbridge for breakfast this morning. We don't often get a chance to go anywhere together since our schedules never match.

Coming soon

I'm going to try to be better about keeping up this year!
I am hoping to get the Project 365 kit from CK but don't think it's going to happen with the nightmare they have going on over there, so I may end up making my own.
Meantime, I am taking my daily photos and keeping track of some info. I'll be posting the photos soon.
