It only took 3 years
It only took 3 years... but K finally got his car on the road.
This one is not one of my favorites, although it does ride better than the yellow one.

I missed the whole month of February but I am going to try to get back into the swing of things. This picture is very poor quality because I took it with my daughter's cell phone. Even so, I love it. We have a farmer at the end of our road who is just a bit crazy. His animals tend to roam all over the neighborhood. He feeds the wild turkeys like they're his pets and has a million stray cats everywhere. A year or two ago one of his wandering cows gave birth in his front yard and for some reason the calf decided Charlie (the farmer) was his mother. She acts like a dog, following him everywhere, sleeping in the front yard and hanging out in the road. Charlie even put a collar on her. Many times I have come around the corner to find this silly cow standing in the road. The other night, as I was coming home, I saw the town had put up a big yellow traffic sign with a cow on it! Today I figured out why... as I came up to the stop sign I saw the cow standing on the side of the road and at her side was a new calf. I had to get out and get a picture.

I have fallen behind
I have fallen behind, but have not given up.
As a scrapbook store owner this is a very busy time. Our industry's major trade show is happening in California next week and I am being bombarded with emails, catalogs, phone calls, etc. from vendors and reps. Add that to Tax Season and you will understand why I'm a bit nutty. I have been taking some photos but not many and nothing really worthy of sharing here. But never fear - I will join in again as soon as I am able.

In case you haven't guessed - I have fallen way behind on my POTD challenge. SO rather than stress about it and trying to keep up with the topics I am simply adding pictures that show what it going on in my life on a daily basis. Hopefully, somehwere along the line I will get back to doing the challenge but for now this will have to do. Eventually I will have 365 photos...

Obviously I am NOT "Focused" in 2008... I have missed afew days here already, but I am going to keep at it. This photo is of someone who is more focused than I am. These two young boys were sparring in my son's Tae Kwon Do class tonight.

OK, so no hat here. But an interesting story and one of my highlights of the day. I had a lady who works at the French Bakery on mainstreet come in looking for something to bake into a 3 kings day cake. I had not heard of it but I guess it is similar to a King cake they make for Mardi Gras. For Mardi Gras they bake a plastic baby into the cake and whoever get it is king for the day. Well in this case, it is to celebrate the Epiphany and an angel is baked into the pastry. The baker had ordered the angels and had orders for 4 King Day cakes for tomorrow but the shipment didn't arrive so she was scrambling for an alternative.
Well, we didn't have any angels but by chance we happened to have a bag oif the plastic babies left over from last year's Mardi Gras celebration; we don't sell them but had to buy a whole bag to make one silly cake. Anyway- I told the girl to take them, we didn't need them. SHe was thrilled and offered to pay for them but I told her no, the next time you're over this way drop off a pastry or a loaf of french bread and I'll be happy. Well she came about a half an hour later with both- a loaf of bread and a couple of pastries!!!
So after a busy day and no chance to take my daily photo I resorted to taking a picture of the bread. Bon Appetit!

Tips on How to Do It
Here are six tips on how to create your own Project 365:
Bring Your Camera EverywhereYes, everywhere. Get in the habit. Grocery stores, restaurants, parties, work, and school. Going to a movie theatre? Snap a pic of the flick with your phone–there are photo-ops everywhere. If you have one of those tiny tiny cameras, you have no excuse not to have it in your pocket all the time. And if you don’t? Camera phones are a great substitute.
Make Posting EasyYou can install blog software like Movable Type or Wordpress on your own site and create an entry for each photo, but for true ease of use, try a photo sharing site. Flickr will let you post a week’s worth of photos in 2 minutes flat, and fotolog and Photoblog.com are geared toward a photo-a-day workflow. Making it fast and easy means you’re much more likely to do it.
Vary Your ThemesTry to capture the day’s events in a single photo. Perform photographic experiments. Take a photo of someone new you meet, something you ate for the first time, or something you just learned how to do. Take a photo of something that made you smile. And don’t forget to take a photo of yourself at least once a month so you can remember how you’ve changed, too.
Tell a StoryUse your blog entry, or your photo description, to explain what’s going on in each day’s photograph. How good did that dinner taste? What made you want to take a photo of that stranger? It’ll help you remember down the road, and it gives friends following along a better appreciation of why you took the photo you did. You don’t need to write a lot, just enough to add some color.
Don’t Stop, No Matter WhatThis is perhaps the most important tip of all. You will get tired of taking a photo every single day. Some days, you will consider giving up. Don’t. The end result is worth the effort. Remind yourself why you wanted to do it in first place.
There will be times you’ll think there’s nothing interesting left to take a photo of, and times you’ll think you didn’t do anything exciting enough to take a photo of. There’s always a great photo to be made.
Get out of the house and take a walk. Or stay inside and look around. Take a photo of something important to you. Take a photo of the inside of your house so you can see how your taste has changed over the years. Take a photo of anything, just don’t stop.
N.b. It helps if you’ve told your friends about the project and asked them to follow along. Their encouragement will keep you going!
Post early, post oftenPlan on going through and posting your photos at least once a week so you don’t get backlogged and feel overwhelmed. Ideally, post every day or two. Again, spend the time up front to make sure it’s quick and easy to post. It’ll make all the difference.
